Intensive Care at Mount Sinai Morningside
When Mount Sinai Morningside patients need constant and close supervision, we often take care of them in one of our intensive care units (ICU). In our ICUs, we can provide 24/7 monitoring and life support. We have the most advanced critical care equipment and technology. Our staff is specially trained to provide this intensive level of care.
At Mount Sinai Morningside, we have two ICUs:
- Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU): Here, we see a variety of patients with serious illnesses or injuries. These include patients who have cancer, severe infection, kidney failure, and respiratory failure.
- Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU): We care for the sickest heart patients, offering both medical and surgical services. Conditions we treat include acute heart failure, cardiac arrest, and complex critical illnesses in cardiac patients.
