Infusion Center
The Mount Sinai Queens Infusion Center offers comprehensive infusion services for patients with both cancer and benign conditions. We use the latest research to design individualized care plans and offer treatment protocols that feature the most advanced therapies.
What is Infusion Therapy?
Infusion therapy is used when you require medications for a serious or chronic condition that cannot be given orally. With infusion therapy, medications are given directly into your veins through an intravenous or central line.
At the Mount Sinai Queens Infusion Center, we treat a variety of cancers and benign conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, asthma, immune deficiency, gout, migraine, multiple sclerosis, osteoporosis, lupus, and more. We use infusions to provide chemotherapy for cancer, and other agents for the many conditions we treat, including antibiotics, anti-coagulation therapy, anti-emetics, hydration, and nutrients such as iron.
Multidisciplinary Approach
Our Infusion Center team includes highly trained and experienced physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, medical assistants, and on-site pharmacists. We collaborate with experts in multiple specialties throughout the Mount Sinai Health System, including The Tisch Cancer Institute, to ensure we meet your individual needs.
Your care team at Mount Sinai Queens can access information about your health history, test results, and treatment progress via our electronic medical record system, ensuring a collaborative and seamless approach to your care.
Personalized Treatment
Our compassionate doctors and nurses work closely with patients and their families to allay their concerns and treat them with dignity, respect, and sensitivity. We take pride in getting to know our patients and giving them peace of mind as they go through treatment.
Doctors and nurse practitioners check on every patient at every visit, and are available as needed throughout the duration of treatment. Patients receive a follow-up phone call from a nurse the day after treatment to ensure all is well and answer questions.
Our Infusion Center features private, comfortable infusion chairs, Wi-Fi, and flat-screen TVs in a quiet setting with large windows and soothing natural light. We provide complimentary breakfast, lunch, snacks, and beverages. Blankets are also available.
Members of our Infusion Center team are fluent in many languages, including Spanish, Russian, Italian, Urdi, Hindi, Punjabi, Mandarin, Taiwanese, and Korean. Dual handset phones enable our staff to easily communicate in virtually any language.
