Dr. Camins joined the medical staff at The Mount Sinai Hospital in 1977 as an Instructor in Neurosurgery after having held a similar position at Cornell University Medical School for one year. Having risen through the ranks, he is presently a Clinical Professor of Neurosurgery at Mount Sinai. Active in national Neurosurgery organizations, Dr. Camins was President of the New York Society of Neurosurgery, is Past President of the American Academy of Neurological Surgeons, and the Neurosurgical Regent of the American College of Surgeons. He serves on multiple committees of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons and is Vice President of  the American Association of Neurological Surgeons. A member of the Board of Governors of the American College of Surgeons, he is also on the editorial board of Neurosurgery and Techniques in Neurosurgery.
