Neuroendoscopy, at Mount Sinai’s Department of Neurosurgery, is minimally invasive neurosurgery that has the advantages of a small incision site with minimal trauma to the brain or spinal cord. Small telescopes and high-resolution video cameras are used to see into the skull, brain, and spine. Working with these endoscopes makes it possible to perform many microsurgical operations, which result in a shorter hospital stay for patients, and a quicker return to normal activities.
