Overview

The Geriatric Psychiatry Clinic is a multidisciplinary group of health care providers dedicated to the comprehensive mental health treatment of older adults. The Clinic offers evaluation and management of persons over the age of 60 and their caregivers. Expert physicians, nurse practitioners, and social workers are available for the evaluation of each patient. Neurologists and neuropsychologists may also provide on-site consultations. All of the health care providers in this clinic are on the staff of The Mount Sinai Medical Center.

The Geriatric Psychiatry Clinic specializes in the following disorders:

  • Memory disorders
  • Behavioral disturbances that result from memory disorders
  • Depression
  • Chronic mental illness
  • Individual and family counseling
  • Group therapy for caregiver issues and bereavement issues
