The Mount Sinai School of Medicine has a long and distinguished tradition of excellence in clinical and translational research as well as innovative patient care, professional education and community involvement.
The overall goals of the Mount Sinai Institutes for Clinical & Translational Sciences (MSICTS) are to establish a new translational research paradigm at the Mount Sinai Medical Center (MSMC) by:
- establishing a multi-institutional environment that will translate cutting-edge research more quickly and easily from bedside to the bench, back to the bedside and then on to implementation in the community,
- training the clinical and translational investigators of tomorrow, providing the knowledge and skills needed to play a central role in moving discoveries into new treatments, and
- supplying the facilities, resources and opportunities needed to advance the clinical research enterprise so that clinical researchers can take full advantage of the translational institutes and collaborations at Mount Sinai Medical Center and its affiliated institutions.
