Veteran Administrator Chosen to Run The Mount Sinai Health System's Flagship Hospital in Brooklyn

Lin H. Mo has been named President of Mount Sinai Beth Israel Brooklyn

Lin H. Mo, a veteran hospital administrator with extensive experience navigating Brooklyn's healthcare market, has been named President of Mount Sinai Beth Israel Brooklyn, Mount Sinai Health System's 212-bed, full service flagship institution in the borough.

Prior to his appointment with Mount Sinai, Mr. Mo served for the past 18 years as President and Chief Executive Officer of New York Community Hospital (NYCH), a member of the New York-Presbyterian Healthcare System that serves similar communities as Beth Israel Brooklyn. Under Mr. Mo's leadership, NYCH reversed years of operating losses, recruited many new physicians, greatly enhanced quality and safety performance metrics, improved hospital facilities, broadened its clinical scope of services and expanded its outreach initiatives. In recognition of his leadership, Mr. Mo has been honored by several local organizations including the Yeshiva Derech Hatorah of Brooklyn, the Council of Jewish Organizations of Flatbush, the Brooklyn Tenant's Council, The Lubavitch Youth Organization, The Boy Scouts of America and Revival Home Health.

Because of his many years of service at NYCH, Mr. Mo enjoys a keen understanding of and strong ties to the many diverse communities served by Mount Sinai Beth Israel Brooklyn.

The hospital's roots remain deeply imbedded in a long history of service to the Orthodox Jewish community, and the union of Mount Sinai and Beth Israel strengthens that commitment. At the same time, new and emerging ethnic enclaves continue to occur in the neighborhoods we serve, and we are meeting these individuals' needs as well."

Prior to his tenure at NYCH, Mr. Mo held progressively responsible positions at the New York Health Systems Agency, Bellevue Hospital Center, Westchester County Medical Center, New York Downtown Hospital, and Sanus Corp. Health Systems. Among his other affiliations, Mr. Mo has been a two-term member of the New York State Hospital Review and Planning Council, the predecessor of the current public health and health planning council.

An undergraduate alumnus of Queens College of City University of New York, Mr. Mo went on to attend Columbia University Graduate School of Business and Graduate School of Public Health, where he received his M.B.A. and M.P.H. degrees, respectively. A teacher at heart, Mr. Mo also held several adjunct positions in healthcare administration at area schools and universities, including, Iona College, the New School for Social Research, Hofstra University, New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and Columbia University.
