"Use Of Surface Topography To Determine Body Changes In Patients With AIS"
At the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Annual Meeting, Baron S. Lonner, MD, professor of orthopaedics, pediatrics and neurosurgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, spoke about a study that used surface topography to look at changes in body shape after surgical correction of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis. "Later on in life, scoliosis impacts function and ability to perform activities. But at this stage, they are more concerned about body image," said Dr. Lonner. "We are one of the few centers that has access to surface topography."
