Cathy Lazarus, PhD

About Me

Dr. Lazarus is Associate Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She is also the Research Director of the THANC Functional Outcomes Research Center, THANC Foundation, Department of Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery, Mount Sinai Beth Israel. Dr. Lazarus maintains a clinical practice and has focused her research on functional outcomes in treated head and neck cancer patients. She has procured NIH funding and has participated in multi-site randomized clinical trials examining treatment for swallowing disorders. Dr. Lazarus taught the Dysphagia course to graduate students in the Communication Sciences & Disorders Department, New York University, for 12 years. She has served on ASHA committees and on the Board of Board Certification for Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders. She was President of the Board of the International Dysphagia Research Society.
