About Me
A board-certified dermatologist with advanced training in cosmetic laser surgery and Mohs skin cancer surgery, Dr. Marmur earned her degree in medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine with distinction in research on melanoma vaccines and Alpha Omega Alpha awards for overall excellence in medicine. She received training in internal medicine at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and further training in dermatology at Cornell Hospital. Dr. Marmur is the principle investigator on over ten research studies including an FDA safety trial using calcium hydroxyapatite filler in dark skin types, treatment of basal cell carcinoma, and new treatments for actinic keratoses.

Dr. Marmur has given numerous lectures both nationally and internationally, and has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed publications, including Dermatologic Surgery. Dr. Marmur has conducted research on new laser technologies as well as cosmetic fillers such as Radiesse. She was the guest editor for the launch of the new magazine Your Health Now by the publishers of The Merck Manual, and she has been featured in the New York Times, The New York Post, The New York Daily News, The Wall Street Journal, Vogue, W Magazine Allure, Elle, Self, Glamour, Cosmopolitan, Parade, In Style, Marie Claire, Oprah, People, Cookie, Women’s Health, Fitness, Ladies Home Journal, Parenting, Golf, WebMD, for Me Magazine, ABC News, WCBS News, Fox News, and the WB Channel. She has been a frequent guest on Martha Stewart Radio (Sirrius) Beauty Talk, and NPR’s How to save your life reaching 33 million listeners.
Recognition
Dr Marmur has received rewards for outstanding research in melanoma vaccines, for excellence in clinical and academic medicine. She has also been awarded for graduating with highest honors, as well as for research at the University of California, San Francisco. In 2007, Dr Ellen Marmur received the honor of being recognized as the “Leading Health Professionals of the World”
