About Me
Konstantin Zakashansky, MD, is the Director of Gynecologic Oncology at Mount Sinai West and an Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Science at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Zakashansky also serves as the Director of the Division of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery for the Health System. He has special interest in radical pelvic surgery, particularly minimally invasive approaches to treatments of benign and malignant gynecologic conditions.
Dr. Zakashansky is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Gynecologic Oncology. He has been active in clinical and translational research. His work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals, and he has contributed to several book chapters on gynecologic oncology.
Dr. Zakashansky is a fellow in the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He is the recipient of many awards, including Castle Connolly Top Doctors, Vitals Patients’ Choice Award, Compassionate Doctor Recognition, and Top 10 Doctor.
After completing two years at the Moscow Medical Academy, Dr. Zakashansky moved to the United States and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Minnesota. He went on to earn his medical degree from the Stony Brook University School of Medicine. Dr. Zakashansky completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Beth Israel and a fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at the Mount Sinai Medical Center.
