About Me
Dr. Nicholas Chun joined Mount Sinai as a Nephrologist in 2016. After completing his undergraduate studies at MIT, Dr. Chun graduated with his medical degree from the University of Massachusetts, where he was honored with the Humanism Award by his medical peers and faculty for his excellence in patient-centered care. He then moved to The Mount Sinai Medical Center for both his residency and fellowship in Internal Medicine and Nephrology, respectively. With his board certifications in Internal Medicine and Nephrology, Dr. Chun specializes in a range of renal conditions, both acute and chronic.
In addition to his clinical role, Dr. Chun serves as a Clinical Instructor of Nephrology at The Icahn School of Medicine. His research interests include transplant immunology, where he recently studied the mechanism of transplant rejection, hoping to discover novel methods to prolong graft survival and improve human health.
Outside of his time with patients, Dr. Chun describes his free time as "chasing my toddlers around and wondering how creatures so small can generate such sublime chaos every moment of every day." He also loves Netflix binge watching with his wife!
