About Me

Reshmi Srinath, MD, is an assistant professor in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Bone Disease and is the director of the Mount Sinai Weight and Metabolism Management Program.

Her interest in metabolism, nutrition and prevention of metabolic disease started in college as a Division 1 tennis player and led her to pursue a career in medicine and specialize in Endocrinology.

She graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine with a merit scholarship. She then completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina and fellowship training in Endocrinology at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, before moving to New York to join Mount Sinai.

As a faculty member her expertise is in the prevention and treatment of obesity, diabetes and other metabolic complications. She performs fat aspirations to assist in Dr. Fried’s research of adipocyte biology and will be integrating this with body composition data. She is also involved in supervising students, residents and fellows both inpatient and in clinics, as well as preparing current fellows for the Endocrinology board exam.

Patient Experience Star Ratings and Comments

The Patient Experience Star Rating reflects our patients’ perception of how well their Mount Sinai provider communicated with them during an office visit. The Star Rating is based on patient responses to three questions on a patient experience survey, a standardized questionnaire sent to verified patients and distributed by a third party vendor, Press Ganey. Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.

Industry Relationships

Physicians and scientists on the faculty of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai often interact with pharmaceutical, device, biotechnology companies, and other outside entities to improve patient care, develop new therapies and achieve scientific breakthroughs. In order to promote an ethical and transparent environment for conducting research, providing clinical care and teaching, Mount Sinai requires that salaried faculty inform the School of their outside financial relationships.

Dr. Srinath has not yet completed reporting of Industry relationships.

Mount Sinai's faculty policies relating to faculty collaboration with industry are posted on our website. Patients may wish to ask their physician about the activities they perform for companies.
