Treatments
There are several types of cancer treatments. Each depends on the type of cancer you have and the stage of cancer you are in. Your age and overall health will also help determine your course of treatment. It is possible to receive one treatment, or a combination of treatments, for your condition.
Cancer treatments can include chemotherapy at our on-site infusion center, radiation therapy, surgery, and interventional radiology. Treatments can either cure the cancer, shrink or remove a tumor, or stop the spread of cancer. Your physician will discuss with you the best treatment options, and their risks and benefits, and you will decide together on your treatment plan.
Why Choose Mount Sinai Brooklyn?
At Mount Sinai Brooklyn, we will make sure you receive the best and most innovative cancer care available, close to home, with access to the full resources of the Mount Sinai Health System.
After a cancer diagnosis, you may want to seek a second opinion. Mount Sinai Brooklyn cancer experts can help confirm your current diagnosis and treatment plan or offer additional options. We provide genetic counseling, which can help explain how certain genes can increase the risk of cancer, and also offer access to clinical trials. Our supportive care team will assist you with managing the effects of cancer treatment and help you continue living your life.
