New York magazine named 241 physicians from the hospitals of the Mount Sinai Health System to its 2015 “Best Doctors” list.  It also listed 34 additional doctors who serve at hospitals within Mount Sinai’s growing affiliate network, for a total of 275 physicians across 59 medical specialties. The “Best Doctors” issue appears in print today and is available online at www.nymag.com/bestdoctors.

“Our integrated health care system provides exceptional medical care to all New Yorkers, and that is reflected in the impressive tally on the Best Doctors list,” said Kenneth L. Davis, MD, President and Chief Executive Officer, Mount Sinai Health System. “Mount Sinai’s innovative research and world class clinical care has attracted the best of the best.”

Mount Sinai physicians are featured in all specialties reviewed in the magazine, including areas like medical oncology, orthopedic surgery, endocrinology and diabetes, neurological surgery and neurology, and cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology.

Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., a New York City research and information firm, determines the rankings based on a regional peer-review survey that asks thousands of licensed physicians to nominate the physicians who, in their judgment, are the best in their field and related fields. The top 10 percent of the region’s physicians are then published in its annual guidebook: Top Doctors: New York Metro Area. For the past 18 years, Castle Connolly has provided New York Magazine with a shorter version of this list for publication.
