The Patient Transfer Center is operational 24/7 and offers a streamlined referral process that ensures quick and easy admission into the Mount Sinai Health System. You may call or 800-TO-SINAI (800-867-4624) at any time. Clinical staff are always available to coordinate the transfer of your patient by assisting in securing appropriate bed placements and arranging ambulance transportation, including specialized advanced cardiac support levels. We also accept pediatric patients. If you don’t have an accepting physician, the transfer coordinator will be glad to identify one for you and facilitate a physician to physician phone consultation.

Arranging a Transfer

When you call, please be prepared to provide the following information so we can assess your patient’s needs:

• Patient’s name
• Referring physician’s name and number
• Current patient location and unit phone number
• Diagnosis and medical service(s) needed
• Accepting physician's name
• Special needs (isolation, ventilator, or IVs)
