All sites are Department of Health Stroke Centers and Mount Sinai Queens is also a Joint Commission primary stroke center. The Stroke Center at the Mount Sinai Hospital was the first in New York City. It is now a comprehensive stroke center certified by the Joint Commission, making it the first hospital in New York State with this honor. The Center features 24/7 availability for emergency consultation and treatment, a specialized neurointensive care unit, a state-of-the-art stroke unit, access to some of the latest clinical trials, and tele-health care to facilitate stroke care throughout the health system.
