Mount Sinai Health System hospitals continue to earn top marks for excellence in care, according to new rankings released by Newsweek/Statista:

  • The hospital also placed No. 1 in the same rankings for both city and state in gastroenterology and nephrology.
  • Mount Sinai West and Mount Sinai Morningside together ranked in the top 10 locally for cardiology.

“Serving and caring for our patients is fundamental to our mission, work, and who we are as health care providers, so it is especially gratifying to be recognized for our commitment to excellence," said Brendan G. Carr, MD, MA, MS, Chief Executive Officer, Mount Sinai Health System. “Mount Sinai’s team-based approach enables us to bring the best and brightest minds from our clinical, education, and research departments together, singularly focused on delivering exceptional care for the communities we serve. We are proud to be recognized and honored to have the opportunity to care for our patients every day.”

Reich, MD, President of The Mount Sinai Hospital and Chief Clinical Officer, Mount Sinai Health System.

“To be recognized locally, nationally, and internationally is a great honor, and a privilege. Breen, MD, President, Mount Sinai Morningside and Mount Sinai West.

Rankings for Newsweek/Statista’s “World’s Best Specialized Hospitals 2027 are based primarily on reputation, which accounts for just under 85 percent of the total ranking score.

In a separate award, The Mount Sinai Hospital was recognized for the first time with the NRC Health Consumer Loyalty Award, celebrating a commitment to excellent patient care. The Consumer Loyalty Awards recognize hospitals that rank among the top 100 healthcare organizations based on a survey of over 300,000 people across the country from April 2024-March 2025. Winners are celebrated for the highest ratings in likelihood to be recommended to others, overall image and reputation, and whether patients feel everyone at the hospital treated them as a unique person.
