Levels of Care
Our psychiatrists have the experience and compassion required to treat the diverse populations in the communities we serve. We are here for patients of every ethnic and socio-economic background who are struggling with a range of psychiatric issues. Through our specialized programs and services, the Mount Sinai Health System offers expert care for patients with a range of mental health conditions at the levels listed below.
We provide emergency treatment 24-hours a day within our dedicated psychiatric emergency department.
Our inpatient treatment can be most effective in helping the patients under the watchful compassionate care of our behavioral health staff. When a patient experiences sudden severe decline in mental health characterized by confusion and caused by a medical condition, help them recover through our delirium program.
We also offer a partial hospital program for patients with acute conditions who can benefit from the type of care provided on an inpatient basis but who have the support and ability to manage an outpatient setting. Psychiatrists, psychotherapists, and social workers collaborate to perform expert assessments and individualized treatment for each patient based on their extensive research and clinical experience. For trauma victims, we offer support and coping skills that help achieve balance and well-being that will be useful for a lifetime.
Finally, we provide treatment for almost every psychiatric disorder or mental health condition; view the list and learn more here.
