Adipose Tissue Depots and Metabolism

Researchers at the Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism Institute are seeking healthy volunteers between 18 and 65 years of age for a study on Fat and Health. The study requires up to three visits to the clinical research unit at Mount Sinai Morningside. Participants will donate blood and fat samples, which will be taken by a trained medical professional. Participants will be compensated for their time (up to $300) upon completion of the study.

Inclusion criteria: 18-65 y, healthy Male or Female, stable weight

Exclusion criteria: pregnancy, chronic or acute systemic inflammatory or autoimmune disease, history of or current coronoary artery disease stage II or above congestive heart failure, peripheral vascular disease or stroke, unstable weight, uncontrolled hypertension, excessive caffeine or alcohol use, smoking, irregular menstrual cycle (if applicable), lidocaine allergy, medications that affect fat metabolism
