Whether a patient is struggling with the slow progression of a movement disorder like Parkinson’s disease or the sudden loss of mobility caused by stroke or neurologic injury, Mount Sinai’s Abilities Research Center (ARC) offers innovative and individualized therapy designed to achieve the highest possible level of function. The ARC is part of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai’s Department of Rehabilitation and Human Performance, which ranks sixth in the United States in the amount of National Institutes of Health funding awarded. The Icahn School of Medicine, part of the Mount Sinai Health System, is a leading U.S. academic medical center and an international leader in medical and scientific training, biomedical research, and patient care. The ARC draws on the work of our research program to offer the newest available technologies to our patients. Through state-of-the-art rehabilitation approaches, including upper and lower limb robotics, exoskeleton devices, and noninvasive brain stimulation, we bring together the resources, science, and support our patients need to maximize their independence and mobility.
