Center for Advanced Practice Providers

The Center for Advanced Practice Providers at the Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) was established in 2022 and is dedicated to elevating the professional practice and recognizing the invaluable contributions of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs). This provider workforce is inclusive of Physician Assistants (PAs), Nurse Practitioners (NPs), Certified Midwives (CMWs), and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs).

Our Mission

In alignment with the mission of the MSHS, we at The Center for Advanced Practice Providers are focused on advancing APP practice to provide well-coordinated, compassionate, safe, quality, and evidence-based care among the diverse communities we serve in full partnership with our interdisciplinary team members.

Our goal is to be a center for excellence and a national model for APP practice. By integrating practice, exceptional education, innovative research, and continuous professional development, our aim is to offer comprehensive support to all employed Advanced Practice Providers. Additionally, we strive to foster a system-wide standard of care and practice, ensuring excellence throughout our organization.

Our Role

We provide support in the areas of regulatory and credentialing requirements, talent acquisition and development, post-graduate education, continued education programs, and other essential components of APP success. We facilitate pathways for career development, expansion of clinical expertise, and capturing APP productivity. We support advocacy for optimal utilization of APP’s.
