Appointments: Referral with documentation of medical care; walk-ins are sometimes accepted but referral is much smoother.

Cost: Medicaid, sliding scale
Eligibility: men and women (ages 18+) who have a problem with substance abuse; family members who want to be engaged.

Services: The Emma L. Bowen Community Service Center (the Center) delivers a broad range of services, which address mental health and substance abuse issues with a major focus on residents of Harlem, Washington Heights and Inwood, working with children/adolescents and their families as well as adults and senior citizens. Services include the following:

- Geriatric services
- Children services
- Residential services (20-bed facility for recovery from alcoholism and chemical dependency)

- Reimbursement for treatment visit travel expenses provided
