Sports Injury Diagnosis and Treatment
Our sports medicine specialists perform a comprehensive evaluation of your condition, taking your medical history and examining you. This assessment may also include imaging studies such as X-rays, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans, MRI arthrography, computerized tomography scans, and ultrasounds. Upon confirming your diagnosis, your medical team will develop a treatment plan for you based on a combination of factors, such as your age, the severity of your injury, and your goals.
Researching New Orthopedic Treatments
The Icahn School of Medicine
Following diagnosis, we may offer you, in addition to your regular treatment plan, the opportunity to participate in a clinical trial. This experience could improve your condition and also allow you to play a vital role in our research efforts to develop new orthopedic treatments. Within the extensive network of the Mount Sinai Health System, our sports specialists are also faculty members at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and they conduct clinical trials. Our focus is always on your quality of life after treatment for bone and joint injuries, and our studies seek to advance the field of sports medicine by investigating the biology of various orthopedic conditions.
