Community-Based Clinical Services
The Child Behavioral Health and Science Center is affiliated with the following community-based programs.
Children and Family Treatment and Support Services
We use a team approach to providing therapeutic services. The program includes these components:
- Other Licensed Practitioner: Consists of three service components to families who meet the level of need: evaluation, counseling (both individual and family), and crisis management.
- Community Psychiatric Supports and Treatment (CPST). CPST provides specific, measurable services to help children and families succeed in the community.
- Family Peer Advocates (FPA): Provide supportive services to parents of children with mental health needs.
- Caregiver/Family Supports and Services: Supports families receiving Home and Community Based Waiver Services. It offers educational, advocacy, and support resources. Our goal is to help you learn to access community services and activities independently.
Family Treatment and Rehabilitation Program
This is an intensive preventive services program to help families where one member suffers from either mental health or substance abuse disorders.
Health Home: Mental Health Care Management
A care manager coordinates these intensive, community-based mental health services. This is an alternative to hospitalization or residential placement.
New Beginnings Preventive Program
This program focuses on helping sexually exploited youth throughout the five boroughs of New York City.
Non-Medicaid Targeted Case Management
These services provide clinically oriented case management for families who do not qualify for Medicaid.
