Electrophysiology

If your child has a heart rhythm issue, or arrhythmia, our specialists at the Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Heart Center will take care of your child. We provide excellent electrophysiology services to diagnose and treat arrhythmias.

Robert Pass, MD, Co-Director of the Children’s Heart Center, leads our electrophysiology service along with Barry Love, MD, an expert in cardiology and complex heart problems. We treat all forms of arrhythmia at the Children’s Heart Center. From before birth to adolescence and well into adulthood, we treat all patients with congenital heart disease.

About Electrophysiology

Electrophysiology is a test performed to help doctors assess abnormal heart rhythms. The Electrophysiology team perform the most advanced testing procedures, such as exercise testing and electrocardiography (ECG) to evaluate arrhythmias. Most testing is noninvasive. We can also conduct these tests at your home.

If a serious arrhythmia is detected, we will explain the condition to you in complete detail. We will also explain what we can do about it. Arrhythmia treatments vary on a case-by-case basis. Our state-of-the-art techniques include advanced electrophysiology testing and ablation. Ablation is a minimally invasive technique that can permanently cure most arrhythmias.
