Every physician at The Martha Stewart Center for Living is on staff with the Mount Sinai Health System and is a member of the faculty of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Physicians who have completed their training in Internal or Family Medicine come to the Center to learn about the specialized needs of and medical care for older adults. Our geriatricians are involved in many research projects on science and aging that include:

• Discovering the causes of dementia and treating its manifestations
• Creating novel teaching programs to ensure that every physician has the core knowledge and skills to care for older adults
• Improving the care of persons living with serious illness and their families through better means of treating pain and other symptoms, enhancing communication, and providing innovative models of care delivery in the community.
