General Pediatrics
Prenatal Consultation
-
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends all parents-to-be visit a pediatrician during the third trimester of pregnancy as an important first step in establishing a trusting and supportive relationship between the family and their pediatrician. This visit allows parents to prepare for the baby’s birth and what to expect in the first weeks of the baby’s life.
-
If your newborn will be delivered at Mount Sinai our pediatricians can see the baby during his/her stay at the well-baby nursery. Please inform your obstetrician the pediatrician you have chosen for your baby.
-
Call 212-241-4242 to request your Prenatal Consultation.
Lactation Visits
-
For families that need breastfeeding support and guidance, Tessa Scripps, MD and Mary Weng, MD are Certified Lactation Counselors (CLCs) and are able to schedule visits focused on lactation support and concerns. Please call 212-241-4242 to request a lactation consultation.
Well Child Visits
-
These are routine visits that allow our physicians to check on the well-being of the child and his/her family. Regular visits create strong, trustworthy relationships between pediatricians, parents and children. At all well visits we will discuss about growth, nutrition and development as well as school performance and mental health for school aged children and teenagers.

We recommend yearly vaccination against influenza.
-
Bloodwork is routinely done at ages 9-12 months and two years to screen for anemia and exposure to lead, and at ages 9-11 years to screen for elevated cholesterol.
Sick Child Visits
-
If your child has signs of an acute illness, we will be happy to accommodate a same day visit called an urgent visit. You can call as early as 8am Monday through Friday to schedule this type of visit. We do not accommodate walk-ins due to COVID restrictions. Please call 212-241-4242 to make an appointment.
Telehealth Visits
-
We offer telehealth visits for certain acute concerns and for follow up visits that do not require an in-person physical exam. We recommend coming for in-person encounters for all well child visits and most urgent visits. Please call 212-241-4242 for more information.

If your child is transferring from another pediatrician’s practice, please ask the office to send your child’s medical and immunization records to us (email: pedsfpaforms@mssm.edu or fax to 212-360-6714) before your appointment so we can review the records prior to the initial visit.

Telephone/My Mount Sinai App/After hour encounters
When medical advice is given over the phone or via My Mount Sinai app, the provider is required to create an encounter for the purposes of documentation and billing. Depending on your insurance plan, these encounters may incur a charge or copay. The charge is determined by each plan and carrier, not by our providers nor our office. We encourage you to call your insurance to verify if these types of encounters will be covered.
Vaccinations
We follow the immunization schedule recommended by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the Prevention Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices (ACIP). We will make every effort to accommodate your family needs and concerns regarding vaccines, but it is our office policy to have all of our patients vaccinated by two years old as per the following schedule.
