TelePrEP

If you may be at risk for HIV, there’s a once-daily pill that can reduce your risk by 99 percent. Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) may be right for you. PrEP is highly effective at reducing your risk of contracting HIV. Once you are on PrEP, you will need to have simple lab tests done every three months to ensure that your liver and kidney functions are normal and that you remain HIV-negative.

You will also be tested for STIs when you come in for your labs.

Mount Sinai’s TelePrEP service allows you to use your phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer to have a video visit with a licensed medical provider. Our team of doctors and nurses provide sexual health services to people of all gender identities and sexual orientations, including cisgender and transgender men and women, nonbinary people, and those who identify as LGBTQ+. Our telehealth providers can also prescribe treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including Doxy PEP (doxycycline post-exposure prophylaxis), an antibiotic treatment for exposure to chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis, and PrEP-on-Demand (PrEP 2-1-1), as appropriate.
