Tele-Stroke Technology

To answer the growing demand for stroke care in our community, we have implemented tele-stroke technology, a state-of-the-art video telecommunications system that allows patients and emergency medicine physicians to speak immediately with an off-site stroke neurologist at any time. The stroke expert, conducts a standard stroke evaluation, helps diagnose the patient, and determines if the patient needs immediate stroke intervention.

Tele-stroke technology has helped us maximize the number of patients who are accurately diagnosed as having a stroke to receive early intervention. This is of vital importance as the need for stroke care continues to grow in our community.
