Mount Sinai Queens Names New Associate Chief Of Vascular Surgery
Paul S. Lajos, MD has been named the Associate Chief of Vascular Surgery at Mount Sinai Queens, it was announced today by David Nierman, MD, MMM, Vice President Medical Affairs and Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Lajos is also an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine.
Dr. Lajos will provide patients and their referring doctors with comprehensive services for the evaluation, diagnosis and management of a full range of vascular diseases. He is skilled in both minimally invasive endovascular and traditional surgical procedures, including carotid artery interventions, dialysis access, aortic aneurysm repair, peripheral artery disease and varicose vein surgery.
Dr. Lajos was recruited to Mount Sinai Queens from the Brooklyn Veterans Administration Medical Center where he served as Chief of Vascular Surgery and was an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn.

Dr. Lajos earned his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, completed a surgical residency in general surgery at the University of Pennsylvania/MCP Hahnemann University in Philadelphia and a fellowship in vascular and endovascular surgery at St. Louis University in Missouri. He also completed a cardiovascular research fellowship at the Hôpital Broussais Clinique Rene Leriche in Paris, France, a fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at the University of Maryland in Baltimore, and additional cardiac fellowships at the Cleveland Clinic and Carolinas Medical Center. He is board certified in general surgery, thoracic and cardiovascular surgery, and vascular and endovascular surgery.
