Restaurateur B. Smith has Alzheimer’s Disease
Barbara Smith, better known as B, the restaurant owner, designer and decorator, is coming forward with news she suffers from Alzheimer’s disease. Smith is being cared for by a team of physicians at The Mount Sinai Hospital, including Martin Goldstein, MD, Assistant Professor of Neurology and Psychiatry at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Looking at her brain scans, Dr. Goldstein said “There seems to be a greater degree of atrophy of the hippocampus here.” They will discuss B’s future, living with the degenerative disease in a longer piece to air later this month.
