Dr Amy Aloysi: "Clinical Trial Testing New Drug That Could Slow the Progression of Alzheimer's"
As many as 5 million Americans aged 65 and older have Alzheimer’s disease. The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York is testing a new drug aimed at slowing the progression of the disease. It’s designed to protect against loss of nerve cells in the brain. “We are absolutely hoping it will prevent cognitive decline, prevent the disease from progressing, and prevent the clinical changes that happen,” says researcher Amy Aloysi, MD.
