With the goal of enhancing health care services for residents in Palm Beach County, Florida, and beyond, today the Mount Sinai Health System announces the acquisition of Palm Beach Cardiovascular Clinic, now renamed Mount Sinai Heart New York Palm Beach, a medical group practice based in Jupiter, Florida.

Mount Sinai Heart New York Palm Beach is the newest addition to the System’s expanding services outside of New York State. It includes seven physicians specializing in cardiovascular care: Gabriel Breuer, MD; Chauncey Crandall IV, MD; Burton Greenberg, MD; Gonzalo Loveday, MD; Mark Sims, MD; Agustin Vargas, MD; and Augusto Villa, MD.

The acquisition is Mount Sinai’s second venture into the Florida health care market, complementing Mount Sinai’s recent partnership with Jupiter Medical Center in an effort to enhance cardiac patient care and clinical research in South Florida. Esteemed cardiologist Gonzalo Loveday, MD, of Mount Sinai Heart New York Palm Beach, is also the newly appointed Medical Director of Mount Sinai Heart New York at Jupiter Medical Center.

“As one of the largest and most experienced cardiology practices in South Florida, joining Mount Sinai will further enhance our ability to continue to expand and offer expert, world-class cardiac care to our patients,” said Gonzalo Loveday, MD.

Mount Sinai Heart New York Palm Beach serves patients in Florida and New York, and is emblematic of Mount Sinai’s strategic development and ongoing efforts to expand health care nationally.  Available cardiovascular services include Echocardiology, Nuclear Cardiology, Electrophysiology, Interventional Cardiology, and Clinical Cardiology.

“The staff and leadership at Mount Sinai Heart New York Palm Beach are well respected in their community and are dedicated to providing comprehensive, quality cardiovascular care to their patients.” said Arthur Klein, MD, President of the Mount Sinai Health Network.  “We are proud to welcome them into the Mount Sinai family and to coordinate that care with the superb resources of the Mount Sinai Health System in New York.”

The acquisition of Mount Sinai Heart New York Palm Beach follows the announcement last February of a pioneering partnership between Jupiter Medical Center and Mount Sinai Heart New York.

That partnership, Mount Sinai Heart New York at Jupiter Medical Center, will enhance cardiac patient care services and research in South Florida.

It encompasses nearly all facets of cardiac care, including interventional cardiology, cardiac rehabilitation, electrophysiology, non-invasive imaging, congestive heart failure, wellness and prevention, research, and education.

This December, Mount Sinai Heart New York Palm Beach will offer office hours in its additional new location, clinic space inside Jupiter Medical Center at 1210 S. Old Dixie Hwy., Jupiter.
