"Smart Chocolate May Eventually Be Used to Treat Alzheimer's"
According to Guilio Maria Pasinetti, MD, professor of neurology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, cocoa extracts, which contain polyphenols, could help reduce age-related cognitive dysfunction and promote better aging of the brain. "Not all chocolate is created equal," said Dr. Pasinetti. "We are trying to develop an experimental chocolate to deliver clinically."
