"Tumors And Diabetes" - Dan Goldberg
Researchers from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai said that insulinomas, a rare, benign tumor, contain a wiring diagram for regeneration of insulin-producing human beta cells, which could lead to new therapies for diabetics, according to a study in Nature Medicine. "For the first time, we have a genomic recipe – an actual wiring diagram in molecular terms that demonstrates how beta cells replicate," said Andrew Stewart, MD, director of diabetes, obesity, and metabolic institute and professor of medicine, endocrinology, diabetes and bone disease at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
