Sakara Life is fresh, organic, plant-based food deliveries service that video producer Kevin Reilly tried for a week. This vegan food plan costs more than $18K per year. The plan has “nine pillars” that include not counting calories. They also do not believe in putting nutritional values on their meals. “Every person has a very unique metabolism in terms of their ability to burn calories. Giving the same amount of food for every single person may not work. It is part of the reason we always say one diet does not fit all,” said Reshmi Srinath, MD, director of the weight and metabolism management program at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
