"Arthur Klein of Mount Sinai Health Network & Adhi Sharma Of South Nassau Communities Hospital "
Arthur Klein, MD, president of the Mount Sinai Health Network and Adhi Sharma, MD, executive vice president of clinical and professional affairs and chief medical officer at South Nassau Communities Hospital discuss the partnership between Mount Sinai Health System and South Nassau Communities Hospital. “Mount Sinai decided with all the changes occurring, with respect to insurance, population medicine, and expectations of communities about enhanced local care that it needed a strong partnership on Long Island,” said Dr. Klein. “From our perspective we had been a longstanding community hospital with advanced services and despite our name we were getting to a complex care level. Many of our patients were still going to the city to get higher level care, and the board of trustees felt it was very important for us to bring complex care to South Nassau,” said Dr. Sharma.
