Medical Care for Transgender and Gender Diverse Patients
Transgender and gender diverse people often seek to change their bodies to better align with their gender identities. The Center for Transgender Medicine and Surgery (CTMS) can help. We offer hormone therapy and other gender-affirming medical care. CTMS also provides primary care to meet all of your health needs. We maintain a sensitive and supportive environment.
Primary Care
At CTMS, our highly experienced primary care team can meet all of your general health care needs. We provide routine screening and health maintenance, as well as yearly physicals and sick visits. In addition, we can refer you to specialists experienced in working with transgender and gender diverse people.
Gender Affirming Hormone Therapy
Transgender and gender diverse patients can access gender affirming hormone therapy at CTMS. This is the case whether you receive primary care here or elsewhere. Our expert providers offer the best possible hormone care. Our team includes highly trained endocrinologists. Before you begin therapy, we sit down with you and discuss the risks and benefits of hormone therapy. Then, we develop a regimen to maximize effects from hormones and keep you safe.
- Feminizing Hormone Therapy
Many transgender and diverse people take feminizing hormones to help develop a more typically feminine appearance. These medications can help you develop breasts. They can change the shape of your face and body. And they can even alter some of your body hair growth patterns. We use estrogen therapy and other adjunct testosterone-suppressing therapy. CTMS will create a hormone therapy plan for all patients. - Masculinizing Hormone Therapy
Many transgender and gender diverse people take hormones to develop a more typically masculine appearance. Using testosterone therapy, we can help you develop facial and body hair and deepen your voice. The medications can change the shape of your face and body. And they can stop menstruation. CTMS will tailor a hormone therapy plan for patients looking to achieve this.
