Rapid Cardiac Evaluation Unit
If you are experiencing new cardiac symptoms, such as chest pain, the Rapid Cardiac Evaluation Unit offers an alternative to the Emergency Room by providing same-day evaluation and diagnostic services. Patients who have been evaluated by their primary care physician or urgent care provider and deemed not “high risk” can be referred to our Unit for evaluation and diagnostic testing on a walk-in basis. Staffed by a designated cardiologist, our Unit offers services that include exercise treadmill testing, echocardiograms, and stress echocardiograms. Same day nuclear stress and coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) are also available. If admission is warranted, we will contact your referring physician. If appropriate, patients will be directly admitted and cared for by our team.
We are centrally located in Manhattan across the street from the Mount Sinai West emergency department, serving as a central hub for the Rapid Cardiac Evaluation Unit. The Unit operates Monday through Friday, 8 am to 6 pm.
Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Program
Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is a complex genetic condition characterized by increased heart muscle thickening. Led by Bette Kim, MD, the team has clinical expertise in diagnosis and management of HCM. At Mount Sinai West, we are skilled in providing comprehensive, noninvasive evaluations, a wide range of treatments, and screening for family members who might be at risk.
Cardiovascular Ambulatory Center
Mount Sinai Fuster Heart Hospital has opened an outpatient cardiovascular office at Mount Sinai West. Services at the Cardiovascular Ambulatory include cardiology consultation and diagnostic testing including Echocardiograms, Stress Echos, ETT-Stress Tests, and Electrocardiograms (EKG).
