At Mount Sinai West, our families have the option to receive the specialized care of certified nurse-midwives. Combining clinical skill with personal nurturing, your midwife will manage your care throughout your labor and delivery, and after you’ve brought your infant home. If at any time you need obstetrical attention, an obstetrician will work with your midwife to ensure a safe and successful delivery.

As your dedicated partner, your midwife will be by your side to listen to your needs, answer your questions, and fully support your choices and preferences. Midwives provide a wide range of services, including prenatal care, labor and delivery, postpartum physical assessment, breastfeeding support, and family planning. They continue to provide care throughout the six-week postpartum period to make sure the needs of new families are heard and met.
