Mount Sinai’s Primary Care Associates and Mount Sinai Diabetes Center Relocate to New State-of-the-Art Facility
The move places physicians from both areas side-by-side and will allow for better coordinated and more comprehensive patient care.
Mount Sinai's Primary Care Associates, a group practice offering patient-centered services ranging from preventive care to the most advanced approaches in disease management, and The Mount Sinai Diabetes Center, ranked 14th on U.S. News & World Report's list of the nation's top diabetes programs and recognized by the American Diabetes Association as a Center of Excellence, are relocating to new state-of-the-art facilities at 10 East 102nd Street on October 22 and 23, respectively. The move places physicians from both areas side-by-side and will allow for better coordinated and more comprehensive patient care.
The new location provides 14,300 square feet of clinical space, located on the fifth and sixth floors of a new 43-story residential tower. Additionally, the facility provides enough space for the five new physicians: four in the Diabetes Center and one in Primary Care Associates, with plans to increase the number of providers in the next year. The number of primary care providers at Mount Sinai has tripled in the last two years and there are plans to increase that number in the next year.

The Mount Sinai Diabetes Center helps patients to prevent diabetes or develop personalized treatment plans to manage the condition and control its progression. Having the Diabetes Center and Primary Care Associates together in the same location allows doctors from both practices to partner in the goal of ensuring patients receive the most thorough care possible.

"This exciting move is happening just as we enter a new era of diabetes research at Mount Sinai. As our researchers work on clinical and basic research in hopes of curing type 1 and type 2 diabetes, our clinicians are helping to bring cutting edge treatments to our patients on a daily basis."
Mount Sinai's Primary Care Associates and The Mount Sinai Diabetes Center will be located in the Residential Tower adjacent to the Leon and Norma Hess Center for Science and Medicine at 1470 Madison Avenue. With a half-million square feet of space, the Hess Center will increase the medical center's research capacity by 30 percent. It will bring together world-class researchers and clinicians from across disciplines to pioneer and provide cutting-edge treatments for patients with high prevalent and serious conditions. Scientists and multi-disciplinary medical teams are scheduled to move in between October 2012 and early 2013.
