Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Excels With Top 20 Ranking from U.S. News & World Report
The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai ranks 18th out of 149 accredited medical schools nationwide, according to the 2013-2014 U.S. News & World Report annual survey on "America's Best Graduate Schools." This strong ranking solidifies Mount Sinai's reputation as one of the top 20 medical schools in the United States.
Mount Sinai’s Geriatrics Program also continues its momentum as the No. 1 graduate program in the nation for the third straight year. Additionally, our Geriatrics clinical service is ranked No. 2 in that category within U.S. News & World Report's "Best Hospitals" listing.
The new rankings, released in the 2013-2014 edition of the U.S. News & World Report "America's Best Graduate Schools" issue, are based on statistical indicators that measure the quality of a school's faculty, research, and students. This information is obtained through surveys of program directors as well as academics and professionals. Criteria used in the rankings include peer assessment surveys, research activity, grade point averages, MCAT scores, and National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding.
Mount Sinai student MCAT scores are among the nation's highest and the school continues to be a national leader in NIH funding, reflecting the prolific work of our scientists. These rankings exemplify Mount Sinai's commitment to educating the next generation of preeminent physicians and scientists.
