Patients with shoulder pain receiving corticosteroid injections (CSI) versus manual physical therapy (MPT) had the same amount of symptom improvement, but the corticosteroid group used more healthcare resources, researchers reported. "You could say that the higher-performing group is the cortisone group, but they're putting more stress on the shoulder and they're less willing to accept a sedentary lifestyle," said Michael Hausman, MD, Chief of Hand and Elbow Surgery, Robert K.
