Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center

Services: Primary care program in New York specifically designed for the health needs of adolescents. The Adolescent Health Center provides confidential comprehensive medical, mental health, family planning, and health education services to young people between the ages of 10-21.

Eligibility: Available regardless of legal status. Ages 10-22
Appointments: Walk-in available early in morning; arrive at 8am

Boriken Neighborhood Health Center

Services: Boriken Neighborhood Health Center (EHCHS) is a not-for-profit community-based organization established in 1965 to provide crucially needed services to residents of East Harlem. Today, EHCHS is a bilingual/bicultural organization providing a broad range of services to a largely Latino clientele. Full health and dental with pharmacy among other social programs.

Settlement Health Services

Services: Mission is to provide East Harlem/El Barrio with high quality, comprehensive, accessible and culturally sensitive preventive and primary care services, and to coordinate the other levels of health care that are necessary. We include women's health, pediatrics, adult medicine, podiatry, HIV medicine and case management, and social services.

Little Sisters of the Assumption Family Health Services

Services: Over the years, programs have expanded in response to community needs. They now include the Advocacy Office and Emergency Food Pantry, the Family Support (Preventive Services) Program, the Early Childhood Program, the Community Life Program and The Sharing Place thrift store. The Home Health Agency program offers nursing care to those with diabetes or asthma, new mothers and babies, people living with HIV or AIDS, and the homebound elderly.

Union Settlement Association

East Harlem Asthma Center of Excellence (EHACE)

Services: Offers free services for children with asthma, including Parent support groups; education and help to manage asthma; pest management services; Help with NYC public housing repairs; basic ESL and asthma classes for adults; connection to your local health care professionals; EHACE Also offers asthma counselor program for children with poorly controlled asthma

New Eyes for the Needy
Location: 17 East 102nd Street, 5th Floor (EHHOP Ophthalmology Clinic)
Services: Provides vouchers to low-income individuals for free eyeglasses. (Takes up to one month to process and typically covers only the cost of a basic pair of single or lined bifocal eyeglasses.) EHHOP can apply on your behalf.
Cost: Free
Eligibility: You must have had a recent eye exam, have an income below 200% the national poverty level, and have no other resources available to pay for glasses (from federal/state programs, or charitable organizations).
