Mount Sinai pulmonary hypertension specialists work closely with colleagues in Cardiology and Vascular Medicine to develop more treatments that are effective. For example, Hooman Poor, MD, along with his colleagues is examining the effect of implementing a hospital-wide pulmonary embolism risk stratification algorithm, which will use a multidisciplinary pulmonary embolism response team for patients diagnosed with acute pulmonary embolism.

Our pulmonary hypertension program also participates in a number of multicenter clinical trials evaluating novel therapeutics in patients with pulmonary hypertension.
