DHULIKHEL HOSPITAL – NEPAL
Dhulikhel hospital was founded in 1996 with the mission to provide quality healthcare to all regardless of the ability to pay. Over the last thirty years the hospital has grown dramatically and now serves a catchment area of more than 2.5 million people. DH also serves as the university hospital for Kathmandu University and hosts a variety of training programs for physicians and nurses.
The ICCM Global Critical Care Program and Dhulikhel Hospital critical care partnership was formalized in 2023. Delegates from the critical care team at Dhulikhel Hospital were welcomed to Mount Sinai for a 4-week immersion experience in critical care operations, practice models, and education structure. ICCM Global Critical Care Faculty traveled to Nepal to explore critical care delivery at Dhulikhel Hospital and other key centers in Nepal. Our collaboration focuses on the following pillars:
- Physician Knowledge and Skills
- Nursing Knowledge and Skills
- Administrative Policies & Partnerships
- Quality Improvement and Best Practices
We are committed to inspiring and preparing the next generation of critical care practitioners who will promote the evidence-based global delivery of critical care and address critical care health disparities through education, quality improvement, and advocacy.
