"Mount Sinai Queens Opens Cerebrovascular Stroke Center "
Mount Sinai Queens celebrated the opening of its new cerebral vascular stroke center yesterday. “It's a high-tech center with immediate attention and all available resources," said J Mocco, MD, MS, vice chair of the department of neurosurgery and director of the cerebrovascular center at the Mount Sinai Health System. “From now on we do not need to take patients to other hospitals outside of Queens because we can remove brain blockages here quickly and efficiently,” said Caryn Schwab, executive director of Mount Sinai Queens. “The spirit of teamwork and the community made this center possible,” said David Reich, MD, president and chief operating officer of The Mount Sinai Hospital and Mount Sinai Queens.
