HIV Prevention & Treatment
Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center's Project Impact (Improving Access to Care and Treatment) service provides comprehensive medical and mental health services, and case management for youth living with HIV and at risk of HIV.
Each patient is assigned a social worker and doctor who work together as a team to provide high quality holistic health care services. We take a patient centered approach, with the understanding that each individual has different needs and will require different levels of services.
Medical Services include:
- Specialty HIV medical treatment
- Laboratory monitoring
- Initiation and maintenance of medication for HIV treatment (ART) and prevention (PrEP)
- Routine preventative medical care
- Reproductive health care
- Gynecology and family planning
- Pregnancy prevention and testing
- STI evaluation
- Risk reduction education and counseling
- HIV testing including same-day rapid testing
- Stress reduction
- Legal Services
- Ophthalmology
- Nutrition
Support and Counseling Services:
- Support groups
- Individual and family psychotherapy, counseling and support
- Comprehensive case management
- Violence prevention and treatment
- Supportive services for survivors of sexual assault and physical and sexual abuse
- Alcohol and substance abuse prevention, treatment and support services
- Teen parenting support service
- Assistance with insurance applications, including M11Q and Medicaid
- Legal assistance and guidance with HIV- and non-HIV related issues
