The Division of Digestive Diseases-Gastroenterology at Mount Sinai Morningside is dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of digestive system disorders, including conditions of the esophagus, stomach, gallbladder and bile ducts, pancreas, small intestine, and colon.
We offer patients the most comprehensive care for all types of gastrointestinal (GI) disorders. Through our ACGME-accredited fellowship training program, we train outstanding gastroenterologists devoted to excellence in patient care, academic research, and the education of physicians in the diagnosis and management of GI disorders. Our patients depend on us for consultative services, specialty procedures, and continuity care. Our areas of expertise include gastroesophageal reflux disease, Barrett’s esophagus, esophageal cancer, swallowing disorders, gastroparesis, irritable bowel syndrome, chronic constipation, and pelvic-floor dysfunction. We perform inpatient and many outpatient procedures in the clinical endoscopic unit at Mount Sinai Morningside.

Diagnostic Testing and Treatments
Understanding and treating gastrointestinal disorders begins with proper diagnosis. To determine the causes and severity of your digestive disorder, we conduct a variety of tests.
Our testing includes:
- Gastroesophageal reflux testing (pH impedance technology)
- Acid reflux testing (ambulatory pH wireless study)
- High-resolution manometry and impedance-pH/manometry
- Gastrointestinal transit rates
- High-resolution anorectal manometry and balloon expulsion tests
After your diagnosis, you will be able to decide on the course of action. Our available treatments and procedures include anorectal biofeedback therapy, sacral neuromodulation, and pelvic health physical therapy.
